These questions often arise for those who have never done this before, it’s like putting together a jigsaw puzzle, you must be careful in placing every part of it if you do not want something to be missing. You can hire some professional to do the packing, but if you have no intention to do that, here are some tips that may help you.
- The very first thing you should keep in mind, each truck is distinguished by its size, as high as 10 to 26 feet. From studio/apartment up to 4 bedrooms sizes (refer to its space), if you have a 2 bedroom size, then there is a good idea to rent a 3 bedroom sizes, since you certainly do not want to make another way home trips because of an error trucks election.
- Then for several weeks before moving, start spending items that are not durable from the refrigerator. Once finished, clean the refrigerator. Meanwhile, start packing items that you do not need during the time left.
- Start selling or giving away household appliances or plants that you will not take. Maybe you could do a garage sale at the time.
- Inventory the items that you will be taking with you. Furniture and valuables must be checked and recorded his condition before moving.
- Get all the boxes in first, packed as high and as tight as you can. If you only have some loose stuff left, stand up a few mattresses or even go buy two cheap sheets of 1/2″ plywood, and tie them across the boxes to lock everything in. They you can put our sofas and other stuff in and not worry about the boxes shifting and falling all over.
- Give the number on the box or the box where the goods already packed (Packing Goods). Pack each bedroom’s bedding in a separate box and mark that box on all four sides and the top.
- Use a special box for items that you will need immediately after moving. Just like toiletries, medicines, towels, pans, scissors, a few plates and glasses and cutlery. Put this special box in your car, so it will easily be taken.
- When packing any room that has cabinets, a good way to avoid repeating steps is to have tape handy and when you finish a cabinet, put a piece of masking tape across the cabinet doors to keep you from repeatably open the doors to check and see if you packed it.
Following this order should make your move more orderly and keep damage and stress to a minimum. All you have to do is just a little effort, ask for help from a friend or your brother and sister, so it is easier to do a relocation job.
